Aboriginal Borders: Helping Children Understand Country, Identity and Respect
What do your students really know about where they live?
When we talk about land, we often mention maps and boundaries.
But Aboriginal Borders are not marked with lines or fences.
They are formed through family ties, cultural responsibilities, and sacred knowledge passed down for generations.
This course is your opportunity to bring that understanding into your classroom—truthfully, respectfully, and with heart.
Designed for educators of Years 1–3, these lessons will guide children through the concept of Country using stories, conversations, and creative exploration.
Go Beyond the Map
Students will learn that Country is not just land.
It is language, kinship, seasons, and spirit.
They will discover how Aboriginal people know where their Country begins and ends—not by rules, but by relationship.
They will ask questions.
They will start seeing the land differently.
They will begin to respect the depth of connection First Nations people have to their place.
And you will feel confident guiding them.
Because this course gives you more than content—it gives you cultural clarity.
Learning That Builds Connection
Every part of this course has been created with care.
You’ll explore how Aboriginal Nations use rivers, mountains, and stories as border markers.
You’ll help children compare this to the borders they’ve seen in books or on screens.
Through engaging activities and discussion, they will develop empathy and awareness.
And you will be shaping a classroom that values truth, respect, and cultural understanding.
Ready to Make a Meaningful Shift?
You do not need to be an expert.
You just need to be ready to learn.
We will walk with you.
Because every child deserves to learn the truth.
And every educator deserves the tools to teach it.
