Gather, Hunt, Heal
Survival and Sustainability
Gather, Hunt, Heal is a journey into the wisdom of First Nations people—how they lived with the land, not just on it. For over 65,000 years, Aboriginal people have gathered, hunted, and healed using the gifts of nature. Their knowledge of bush foods, weaving, and sustainable harvesting ensured survival and harmony with Country.
Because living with the land matters.
This program explores the deep connection between people, plants, water, and animals. Through four courses, you will learn how First Nations people gather, hunt, and heal using nature’s resources.

Weaving and Wild Harvest: Gathering Nature’s Gifts
We believe every plant has a purpose. Aboriginal people have long used native plants for food, medicine, and weaving. This course explores traditional weaving techniques, bush foods, and native medicines—skills that sustained communities for thousands of years.
Because using what nature provides matters.

Gathering in the Mangroves: Life Between Land and Water
We believe the mangroves are a place of abundance. These rich ecosystems are home to fish, crabs, and shellfish that have fed First Nations people for generations. This course uncovers traditional food gathering in the mangroves, highlighting sustainability and respect for Country.
Because protecting the balance of nature matters.

Gathering in the Woodlands: Bush Medicine and Edibles
We believe the bush is a living pharmacy. Aboriginal people understood the healing power of native plants, using them for medicine, food, and survival. This course explores bush medicine, edible plants, and the deep knowledge that connects people to the land.
Because learning from the bush matters.

Foraging at the Beach: Gifts from the Sea
We believe the ocean provides for those who respect it. The coastline has long been a source of food, with sustainable fishing and gathering techniques passed down through generations. This course explores traditional coastal food gathering, shellfish harvesting, and sustainable fishing practices.
Because caring for the sea matters.
